For the Fifth Year consecutively, The Culture Palaces Authority and cooperation with Luxor Governorate Opened The Festival of Sticking in Luxor Temple Yard From 17 December to 21 December 2011 in the presence of big numbers of tourists , players & fans who came from far cities to enjoy this interesting game.
The Sticking: is a game which pharaohs carved On their temples walls, one of the games that encourage of horsemanship & fencing skills. It’s not only as some people though; just only holding a stick and standing facing to opponent to fence but also has its own strict rules which must to be learned very well before holding a stick. Ignorance with this roncepts and rules of this historical game could occur to sarcasm from others and sometimes would lead to killing.
The stick used by ancient Egyptians was made from putty Papyrus to be harmless, by the time they started to use a stick more solid and more harming which caused many of death cases inside the Sticking Ring. In these cases the dead man's family not have right to ask for revenge or blood money in contrast to other cases of murder.
